Linking Luton with the chalk grasslands around Dunstable and the Sewell Greenway this traffic-free route boasts a variety of attractions. The route takes you out of Luton along Riverside Way which features a number of artworks including ‘Layering of Time' milestones and ‘Blockers' Seaside', a piece reflecting on the life of early twentieth century workers from the hat factories of Luton, both created by Isabella Lockett.
Situated at the crossroads of two of Britain's oldest roads - Watling Street and the Icknield Way - the market town of Dunstable is steeped in history. You can visit the Priory House Heritage Centre which offers an insight into the history of the area.
From Dunstable, you join the delightful Sewell Greenway to Stanbridge. Following the old railway line between Dunstable and Stanbridgeford, the Sewell Greenway is rich in wildlife and provides a wonderful escape into nature for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
