This route takes you from Ipswich, county town of Suffolk, to the charming town of Woodbridge using a mixture of on-road and traffic-free sections. Both towns offer a wealth of things to do ranging from museums to country parks.
Dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, Ipswich is steeped in history and boasts a range of fine buildings including medieval churches, the Ancient House, a Victorian Wet Dock and Christchurch Mansion, a fine Tudor mansion. Surrounded by a 70-acre landscaped park, Christchurch Mansion also houses a collection of paintings by John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough.
The riverside town of Woodbridge is overlooked by the Anglo-Saxon burial ground of Sutton Hoo. The town is also famous for it's 8th century Tide Mill which is thought to be one of the earliest Tide Mills in the UK.
