Get involved
Volunteers help Sustrans in many ways. This has enabled us to achieve much more, and it has also given our volunteers a stake in our work, ensuring that our practical projects are responsive to the needs of local communities. As we have grown, volunteers have become a crucial and highly valued part of Sustrans. Below are some ways in which you can support us.
- Get fundraising! Join a sponsored ride or organise your own, hold a fundraising quiz, gig or cake sale to raise money for Sustrans or take part in a run, triathlon or other event to support us.

- Publicise Sustrans by organising stalls, giving talks, distributing leaflets or acting as a local media contact.
- Help out in schools with our projects.
- Lead walking and cycling activities to encourage people to be more active.
- Maintain and monitor the National Cycle Network as a volunteer ranger.
- Help in communities to improve the street environment.
- Join us in the office to help us run smoothly at every level.
- Your work place can also get involved - see corporate support.
We are actively seeking specific skills for one off opportunities in our Volunteer for us section.

If you would like to get involved but want to do something different from above then contact Volunteer Support on volunteers-uk@sustrans.org.uk or 01179 150 110 and we'll discuss how you can help.
However you want to help, your donation of time and skills enables us to reach more people and build an even more effective movement.
