Physical activity and health focus

Sustrans has been involved in the BHFNC led development of a Single-Item Physical Activity Measure

The objective of the project was to identify a robust and practical self-report physical activity measure for agencies commissioning evaluation, and managers and co-ordinators delivering programmes aimed at increasing participation in physical activity in the UK. Sustrans was involved in the design, initial field testing and in providing feedback on the practical implementation of the tool.

Community, school and workplace initiatives to encourage individuals to use their local outdoor environment for physical activity is a rapid review of peer reviewed and grey literature commissioned by NHS Health Scotland by researchers from University of Stirling's Institute for Social Marketing, Dept of Nursing and Midwifery and Dept of Sports Studies and Sustrans Scotland and is available here.
