Public transport
Provision for public transport must take account of the needs of people who walk and cycle, and combined walking/cycling and public transport journeys should be encouraged.
This will involve:
- Improvements of walking and cycling routes to interchanges
- Cycling friendly interchanges including suitable cycle parking provision and signage
- Safer interchange environments for pedestrians and cyclists
- Bus lanes and tram routes designed to encourage cycling
- Bus and tram stops that minimise inconvenience for cyclists
