Junctions and crossings

When designing a junction or crossing, the aim should be to give cyclists as high a priority as is feasible, as route continuity is essential to the popularity of any cycle or pedestrian route.  The quality of detail and the level of priority given to cyclists and pedestrians must reinforce the perception that they are at least as welcome in the area as motor traffic.
