Working in schools

sustrans schools officer

We work throughout the UK to help children to travel actively and safely, with more than 140 expert schools officers working intensively in over 2,400 schools.

In just one year of working with a school we typically achieve:

  • double the number of children cycling to school every day, with over a quarter of children regularly cycling to school
  • increased levels of walking and scooting

I would recommend working with Sustrans to other organisations. Working with Victoria is an absolute pleasure. She is passionate, energetic and makes learning about cycling fun for all children. I have seen a massive difference that she has made... by getting children more active and knowledgeable about physical activity...

  • fewer cars on the school run

We give young people the skills and confidence to travel under their own steam – and their parents the confidence to let them – with all the benefits this brings:

  • Over 96.7% of respondents in our school survey thought Sustrans had a very positive or somewhat positive impact on getting pupils at the school more physically active.
