Good mapping is essential to our work in promoting active travel in cycling and walking. We work with our expert cartographers, surveyors, designers and GIS (geographic information system) professionals to design and make our own custom maps showing cycling routes.
We also work with others to produce custom made, attractive and user-friendly mapping both in print and online.
Four Point Mapping, the UK’s largest specialist supplier of walking and cycle mapping, recently joined Sustrans, strengthening the services we provide to local authorities and other organisations.
At present, we map more than 160 towns and cities from Cornwall to Aberdeen. These include major conurbations like Tyneside, Teesside and South and West Yorkshire as well as county towns in Suffolk, Somerset and Dorset.
The mapping team - cartographers, surveyors, designers and GIS experts
Our team of cartographers, surveyors, designers and GIS experts are all experienced in their fields and pride themselves on offering a first-rate personal service to all our customers.
Map your town, university, workplace, school or hospital
Promote active travel through local maps for individual sites. Easy and cost-effective, cycling and walking maps can be combined with public transport information. Ideal for distribution to employees students and visitors.
Interactive and online
Add some extra flexibility to your mapping by making online versions fully interactive. Pan, zoom and print functions are standard and everything can be made to display more information through pop-up boxes or hyperlinks.
Route auditing and surveying
All maps are only as good as the information behind them. We have many years experience in route mapping and auditing with data supplied in a variety of formats. We have surveyed cycle routes in every town in England for the Department for Transport and have just been awarded a contract to survey Welsh towns and cities under the Government’s Active Travel Act.
Our own maps
We have always published our own maps of the National Cycle Network. Our series of pocket-sized maps now covers the whole country.
