Xavier Brice on the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

“Since the sad passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II we will have all been touched by the coverage on TV, radio, newspapers, online and in conversations over the past few days.

"Each of us will have been affected differently, and many of us will be deeply saddened at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

“She may mean a lot to some, or maybe very little to others. But what is beyond doubt is that her passing marks the end of an epoch.

"We will have a King for the first time in most people’s living memories.

“In her 70 years on the throne we have seen remarkable change in so many ways, and it is difficult to picture a UK without her reign.

“This will continue to be a sad time for many and people will have different views and feelings.

"So, we must continue to look out for each other and be respectful of others.

“The Queen’s passing comes at a time of upheaval and uncertainty.

"There are challenges ahead and we will navigate through them.

“But we can look forward to a new era, with our new monarch King Charles III, in which we unite to tackle our shared challenges and create a better society for everyone, where we can live and move well together."
