Route 573 of the National Cycle Network runs from Congleton to Davenham passing through Goostrey. With no major climbs, it's a great route to take in the undulating landscape in the area.

Route 573 provides a link between Route 55 to the east and Route 5 which runs through the centre of the County and onto Wales.

From Congleton, the route follows minor roads towards Twemlow Green and Goostrey.

The landscape is undulating with no major climbs other than where the roads dip into river valleys. At Twemlow Green there is a very short section on the A535.

The countryside is open with pleasant views towards the hills of Wales in the distance. From Shipbrook there is a short climb into Davenham. Here the route meets Route 5 going north towards Chester and Wales or south towards Middlewich and Stafford.

Want something to do when you arrive at Goostrey? Jodrell Bank observatory lies 2km away from the route with the iconic Lovell Telescope.
