Peterborough's Green Wheel is a network of routes in and around the city created as part of a Millennium project.
The section described here runs west from the city-centre along the River Nene, to Ferry Meadows Country Park and through the villages of Marholm and Etton before returning to Peterborough city centre and uses a mixture of traffic-free paths, quiet roads and urban cycle lanes. The section which follows the riverside path from the city-centre to the western end of Ferry Meadows Country Park is particularly suitable for novice cyclists and young children as it is flat and traffic-free.
Peterborough has a wealth of attractions including its impressive Norman Cathedral which boasts a magnificent West Front, Peterborough Museum and the Nene Valley Railway.
