Bodmin to the Eden Project

This ride takes you through the Cornish countryside from the pretty town of Bodmin to the Eden Project - one of the country's best tourist attractions.

This route follows National Route 3 from Bodmin to the Eden Project.

Starting in Bodmin, one of Cornwall's oldest towns, the route takes you on a mixture of on road and traffic free paths past the fantastic National Trust property of Lanhaydrock.

This fantastic country house was devastated by a fire in 1881 and subsequently refurbished in a grand Victorian style.

The property gives you the chance to experience what life was like for the servants and owners, with fascinating glimpses into life above and below stairs. The house has beautiful gardens that have year-round colour.

Lanhydrock also has a cycle hub - a mountain bike centre that opened in 2014 which has 10km of green and blue graded MTB trails, a skills area, a balance track, a cafe, car park and bike hire.

Continuing on the ride, you travel close to the Helman Tor Geological Site and nature reserve.

This large wetland complex is home to a wide array of habitats including wet and dry heathland, acid grassland, large areas of willow and oak woodland and numerous ponds.

The route then arrives at the Eden Project, one of the most fascinating tourist attractions in the UK.

Here you can walk through rainforests, see colourful plants in bloom, learn about sustainable living and ride a land train pulled by a tractor.

For people arriving by bike there is an entry discount as well as ample bike parking and luggage lockers.
