Art on the National Cycle Network

art on the ncn

Sustrans works with artists, schools and local communities to create and explore landmarks, environments and ideas that celebrate the surrounding areas, helping to create a strong sense of location, creating special places that you can visit again and again by foot and bike.

Explore hundreds of artworks along the National Cycle Network. Discover Sustrans Art Trails across the UK.

Inspired by the changing environment and communities along the National Cycle Network, our collections of artworks reflect the social history and culture of specific locations. Read more about how we work and engage with communities across the UK.

You’ll find iconic earthworks and sculptures by artists such as Andy Goldsworthy and Tony Cragg, audio-visual installations in tunnels, mileposts, gateways and viewing platforms that comment on the uniqueness of the places you’ll travel through.
