Route 45

National Route 45National Route 45 of the National Cycle Network will connect Salisbury in Wiltshire with Chester in Cheshire, via Swindon, Cirencester, Gloucester, Worcester and Whitchurch.

Between Saul and Gloucester the route follows National Route 41.

Open Sections: The route is almost complete between Salisbury and Gloucester with optional routes between Amesbury and Swindon. There are still gaps awaiting development, so the route isn't signed continuously between Salisbury and Gloucester.

Loosely following the River Severn the route is open between Gloucester and Lower Lode (just west of Tewkesbury), Worcester and Droitwich and Stourport-on-Severn and Bridgnorth.

The route is then open and signed between Ironbridge and Chester via Whitchurch.
