As a charity, Sustrans depends on funding from a wide range of sources to keep our work going.

This includes contributions from our tens of thousands of committed Supporters. It also includes grants from charitable trusts and companies, the Big Lottery Fund, the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme, local and central government (including the devolved governments in Wales and Scotland and government departments in Northern Ireland), non-departmental public bodies, and the European Union.
Significant financial support from the Millennium Commission meant we could build the first 5,000 miles of the National Cycle Network. And since then, the cycle industry has contributed, including the Bicycle Association, the Association of Cycle Traders and the Consortium of Bicycle Retailers.
In order to create a UK that makes it easy for people to walk, cycle and use public transport for their everyday journeys, we not only create new routes and complete work in communities across the country ourselves, but we also persuade other bodies to jointly or independently fund similar projects.
If you feel strongly about the work we do, please consider becoming a Sustrans supporter - we need you!
