Bike It volunteers - Canterbury and Thanet

(ref BI003)

'Bike It' is all about encouraging children to cycle to school, emptying the car parks and filling the bike sheds - making children healthier, happier and more alert in lessons.

The Bike It project has been running in East Kent since April 2006. Working in both primary and secondary schools, on average there has been an increase of 7.4% in regular cycling to school. Find out more about Bike It.

There are “Adopt a School Opportunities” in Canterbury and the chance to work directly with the Bike It Officer in Thanet. Volunteers are required to help out at school events, clubs and family rides. Help in administrative duties may also be required.

If you are interested, or would like more information please contact your local Bike It Officer David Robert on: david.robert@sustrans.org.uk or call 07824 399 126 (mobile).

To apply, please complete and return the volunteer application form.
