About Sustrans
Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity. Our vision is a world in which people choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. Every day we are working on practical, innovative ways of dealing with the transport challenges that affect us all.
Sustrans aims to:
- reduce the environmental and resource impacts of transport
- enable people to choose active travel more often
- provide car-free access to essential local services
- create streets and public spaces into places for people to enjoy.
We work in three ways to achieve these aims:
- we create public space focussed on access not mobility
- we provide information and work directly with people to bring about behaviour change
- we influence government policy by demonstrating that it is possible to change people's behaviour and by measuring the benefit of our work in terms of health, environment, quality of life and value for money.
